Call for Honorary Degree Nominations

Dear Members of the Carnegie Mellon Community,

Each year, Carnegie Mellon has the privilege of recognizing a remarkable group of individuals whose achievements have advanced knowledge, strengthened society and inspired others to imagine what is possible. I invite you to help us identify potential honorary degree recipients by nominating a worthy candidate today.

Conferring an honorary degree is among the highest distinctions our university can bestow. Through this recognition, Carnegie Mellon celebrates individuals whose vision, achievement and service have made an enduring impact on their fields, their communities or the world. Their accomplishments reflect the values we strive to cultivate at Carnegie Mellon and underscore our university's role in shaping a better future.

We seek to honor a stellar cohort of individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to their professions, to our nation, or to the world, and whose life and work are broadly connected to the highest aims and aspirations of this university.

Nominees must be distinguished individuals who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Achieved preeminent levels of distinction in their fields and demonstrated extraordinary achievements, with a preference for those with a clear affiliation or connection to CMU;
  • Established record of exemplary service to the world, to our nation, to our region, or to society; or
  • Displayed an extraordinary commitment of service to 糖心Vlog视频, with a demonstrable positive impact on the university and its community.
