Make-Up of Absence from Class Due to Illness
When students are ill, they are expected to discuss with professors the time and place for make-up of assignments, tests and/or examinations missed in accordance with the course's attendance policy. Faculty are expected to provide reasonable flexibility to students who are ill. To uphold a student’s right to confidentiality, to ensure equitable treatment, and to protect a faculty member from adjudicating medical needs, faculty are strongly discouraged from asking for medical documentation to be provided directly to them in the case of student absences.
