Fees
Your paid ChatGPT Edu subscription provides unlimited access to core features using the Fast and Mini models. Some advanced capabilities (i.e., GPT-5 Thinking, Pro, Deep Research, and image generation) incur a per-use credit cost.
Subscribers to all tiers can complete 5 Deep Research requests and 3 image generations per rolling 24-hour period, which do not consume any credits.
The following credit tiers are available for purchase with a departmental Oracle string:
- Small (Standard): 260 credits/month — $240 billed annually ($20/mo)
- Medium: 1,020 credits/month — $600 billed annually ($50/mo)
- Large: 2,300 credits/month — $1,200 billed annually ($100/mo)
- X-Large: 4,880 credits/month — $2,400 billed annually ($200/mo)
Credits refresh at 12:00 a.m. UTC on the first day of each month. This means that if you are in Pittsburgh, the refresh time is either 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. Eastern Time on the last day of the month, depending on daylight savings.
