Bio

I am a teacher-scholar of writing and communication interested in how people communicate, write, and work in academic, professional, and other institutional settings. My teaching and scholarship engage workplace communication, grant writing, technical editing, teacher development, writing centers, campus sustainability, and the use of generative AI in writing and editing. Across these areas, I am particularly interested in how genres, technologies, organizational practices, and material conditions shape communication and everyday practice.

My current projects include collaborative research on grant-writing pedagogy; Dumpster Treasures, which examines campus move-out waste; research on generative-AI-assisted writing and editing workflows; ethnographic fieldwork in plasma donation centers; and a book project on frugal living and long-term financial security for graduate students. My work has appeared in Written CommunicationCollege Composition and CommunicationSport Management Education JournalMinneTESOL Journal, and various edited collections.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, cooking, badminton, biking, and growing vegetables and mushrooms.
