Scotty Saturday celebrates Carnegie Mellon spirit and pride, uplifting our incredible students and highlighting the vibrancy of our campus! Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of activities, traditions, student talent showcases, free snacks, and more!
Each year, The Office of Student Involvement and Traditions partners with the Office of Family Engagement to host Scotty Saturday during CMU’s annual Family Weekend. Don’t forget to check out all the fantastic sessions, workshops, and other experiences from last year’s event below!

- Afternoon Activities and Night Market tabling with student orgs, including: Alpha Chi Omega, CMU Star Wars, Scotch'n'Soda Theatre Company, Spring Carnival Committee, the Peer Health Advocates, and the Activities Board
- Tartan Spirit Station: Penant Making with Student Government
- Free Cider, Donuts, and Other Refreshments
- Mini Golf, Inflatables, and a Rock Wall
- Arts Pass Pop-Up
- Caricature Artist and Airbrush Tattoo Artist
- Performances from the Independent Musicians Organization
- Safety demonstrations with EMS and the Fire Safety Team

Plan an afternoon activity
Facilitate a fun activity or event! Big or small, we love them all! Ideas could include: pumpkin painting, cornhole tournaments, cookie decorating, small service projects, henna, or photobooths.Small grants are available for groups or individuals who sponsor and facilitate activities during the Afternoon AdventuresPerform at the student showcase
Perform as an individual or as an organization for Scotty Saturday attendees. Music, dance, comedy, poetry and more are all welcome for this small, casual performance spacetable at the marketplace
Showcase your organization: tell the campus what your organization is all about and how to get involved
Fundraise: student groups may sell food, apparel, art, or other items to raise funds
Individual entrepreneurs: promote or sell items, art, and/or handmade goods from your own small business
Spend the afternoon connecting with the CMU community and enjoy unique experiences on campus
Scotty Saturday features many exciting activities and stations, including CMU-themed arts and crafts.
